In August 1925 plans were approved for a gymnasium building to be connected to the industrial education building of the Oshkosh High School complex. “The gymnasium building . . . will have a playing floor 60 x90 feet, with seating capacity, under ordinary conditions, for 1200. When to floor is not in use for playing and the gymnasium is being used as an auditorium, 600 additional seats can be placed on the floor.” [Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, Aug 4, 1925, p. 12]
The building was dedicated on January 28, 1927. “The building is on brick, steel and concrete construction. It is well illuminated by windows on three sides. Artificial light is provided through a scientifically arrangement of electric bulbs. The temperature of the building can be adjusted as desired. The main auditorium floor is 60×90 feet . . . . A stage at the west end of the building provides facilities for musical productions, lecture programs and stage plays.”
